New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission released notification for Special Class Railway Apprentice Examination – SCRA 2015. This test is conduction for selecting candidates for BTech course.  After the completion of the course, eligible candidates will be absorbed into Railways as Class – 1 officers.
UPSC SCRA 2015 Exam on January 18 : Apply before November 7 for UPSC SCRA 2015Qualification for Special class railway apprentice examination is intermediate.  Candidates can obtain BTech degree through this examination and also get a job as mechanical engineer in Railways.  Last date for applying is November 7.  Written test will be conducted on January 18, 2015.
Special class railway apprentice examination is conducted in two stages.  One is written exam and those who qualify in the written exam will have to appear for a personality test.  written test will contain three papers.  Total marks for which the exam is conducted is 600.  There will be objective questions and will be in Intermediate level.  Negative marking is also there and 1.4th marks are cut for every wrong answers.  Paper one will have questions from general eligibility test, paper 2 will be physical sciences and the third paper will contain questions from Mathematics subject.  Time duration for each paper is two hours.  those who qualify in written exam will be called for interview.  Candidates will be called for interview in 1:3 ratio. Personal details of the students are scrutinized in this interview.
Duration of special class railway apprentice is four years.  training will be in railway workshops.  Those who complete the course will be awarded BTech degree by BITS. There will be eight semesters.  Candidates have to get at least 40 percent marks in all subjects.  They also score at least 60% marks in apprentice training to become eligible for Railway job.  Rs. 9,100 stipend will be given for the first two years and Rs. 9,400 in the 3rd year.  stipend given for 4th year is Rs. 9,700.
Those who successfully complete their BTech degree should complete their 18 months probation period as mechanical engineering in Railways.  Then they will be given posting as permanent mechanical engineer.  There are only limited seats in SCRA course and thus candidates must work hard to get success.
